Communal incentives:

The winning hall will receive an end of year party so all residents can celebrate their energy-saving actions in style!

 

Last year the parties featured steel bands, sumo wrestling, caricaturists, magicians and a BBQ.

 Individual incentives:

There is also a range of individual prizes on offer over the course of the year to students from within halls at Coventry University.  To maximise your chances of winning, join the "Coventry University Eco-Power Rangers" Facebook group or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. - Those living in halls who sign up to the campaign at Freshers' Fair will receive a Student Switch Off cotton bag (to help to reduce plastic  bag usage) together with some Ben & Jerry's merchandise.

- Every two weeks people who post photos of themselves doing the energy saving actions can win tickets to nights out.

- In November 2009 and February 2010 we will be running a competition to win water-powered alarm clocks and Slankets (the original blanket with sleeves).

- In November 2009 an Eco-Power Ranger at Coventry will win a year's supply of Ben & Jerry's ice cream*

- Every month from Sept 2009 to June 2010 a student in halls at one of the participating Unis will win a year's supply of Ben & Jerry's ice cream as part of the picture-of-the month competition. Click here for details of how to enter the competition.

* A year's supply of Ben & Jerry's equates to 6 vouchers for 500ml tubs of Ben & Jerry's working on the assumption that the average person who eats Ben & Jerry's has 2 tubs a year and then adding a few on for good measure!
