The data for energy usage in the acadmic year 2007/08 showed an average of a 8.8% reduction in electricity usage across the halls at the Uni of Warwick. This helped to keep approximately 216 tonnes of CO2 out of the atmosphere - a great result.

As you will see from the leaderboard below, there is quite a significant difference between the top and bottom hall. This is partly because the halls are metered quarterly but the main thing to take away from this is that there has been a substantial reduction overall which just shows that every small energy-saving action really does make a difference.

The residents of the leading hall of the Student Switch Off, Claycroft, celebrated their victory with a Green party at the end of the academic year hosted by the main sponsors of the initiative, E.ON, where there was a BBQ, live steel band and zero carbon games such as sumo suits and Giant Jenga.

Keep up the good work when you move into your private accommodation and remember, every single action makes a difference and don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise.
