Sussex Results Share

The Sussex Student Switch off campaign 2009/10 has been won by Swanborough who will receive a FREE celebratory meal and drinks as a reward for their energy-saving actions!

Over the course of the academic year across all the halls there was an average of a 3.5% reduction in electicity usage compared with previous years - saving over 55 tonnes of CO2. This is the equivalent of leaving on a 15 watt energy saving light bulb for over 780 years! The graph below shows how the different halls fared (we were unable to include the Kings Rd residences due to lack of data):

Over the course of the year, over 400 students in halls signed up as Eco-Power Rangers - students who pledged to use their energy carefully and encourage others to do the same. The breakdown of the number of students signed up in each hall is as follows:
