The results are in.... and Heronbank students have won the Student Switch Off competition this year, with a reduction of 18%, or 1.27 kWh per student per day.  Well done to everyone who took simple actions to save energy in Heronbank and helped to achieve such a great result!

Overall, this year there's been an average decrease in energy consumption of 9% across the halls, which means that you've saved an absolutely incredible 265 tonnes of CO2 from being emitted!  That's the equivalent of the amount of energy used to:

  • power an energy-saving lightbulb for over 3,700 years
  • make 15.3 million cups of tea
  • fly from London to Manchester and back 2,946 times!
