Communal incentives:

The winning hall will receive an end of year party so all residents can celebrate their energy-saving actions in style!

Last year the parties featured steel bands, sumo wrestling, caricaturists, magicians and a BBQ.

Individual incentives:

There are a range of individual prizes on offer over the course of the 2010/11 year to Eco-Power Rangers from within halls at De Montfort University. To maximise your chances of winning join the ”De Montfort University Student Switch Off” Facebook group or join the e-mail list.

Those living in halls who sign up to become an Eco-Power Ranger at the Freshers’ Fair will receive a Student Switch Off cotton bag(to help to reduce plastic bag usage) together with some Ben & Jerry’s merchandise - including a freezer bag so you can keep your ice cream/wine cool when you’re off to a picnic (or given the weather recently, off to a house party!)

Each fortnight there are photo competitons – those who enter photos are in with a chance of winning one of the below:

- Weekly tickets to Kinky and to Big Bad Cheese at DSU.

- Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and merchandise

- Lush goodies

- NUS extra cards

- Water-powered alarm clocks so that you can wake up sustainably.

- Each month the best energy-saving pics submitted by Eco-Power Rangers across the UK will win a hefty dose of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream!
